About the Collaborator

Theatre Horizon was founded in 2005 and has become a major contributor to the arts community in Montgomery County, staging a critically-acclaimed 3-show season annually, reaching over 1,000 children through drama classes and camps, and pioneering an autism drama program that uses actors to teach socialization skills to children with autism.

Theatre Horizon has put down roots in Norristown. We have become the linchpin of Arts Hill, Norristown’s new arts district, in the heart of Montgomery County. Norristown sought our help in realizing a major renaissance in the town, and we responded by producing a theatrical season that drew more than three thousand patrons of the arts to Norristown in 12 months.

As a direct result of our success, the borough of Norristown is now working on a major revitalization project which includes the creation of Norristown Arts Hill, arts district in heart of Norristown, with Theatre Horizon as the linchpin of that project.

Theatre Horizon’s 2010-11 season, to be announced April 1st, will continue to advance our mission: to create a community of artists, students and audiences in which each member is encouraged to grow through theatre.  Next year’s plays will continue to achieve at the level of past productions, lauded by critics as such:

“This Little Shop, the fourth I've seen, is like no other, and better than all of them—including the strong 2003 Broadway revival . . . This is the kind that wins awards.”
–Howie Shapiro, The Philadelphia Inquirer

“Dead-on hilarious and performed with the kind of wit, energy, and nuance you can expect from a top-notch company.”

–Lifestyle Magazine (of “804 Actors”)

“Theatre Horizon lives up to its name with an earnest and energetic production that just might show the way toward our own era’s redemption.”
–Broad Street Review (of “Holiday Show”)
