Philadelphia Young Playwrights
Philadelphia Young Playwrights steers a multigenerational journey that careens through then, now and next. Boundaries blur, the audience takes part and histories revise in the doing.
Time Machine is a Philadelphia Young Playwrights (PYP) yearlong playwriting and multigenerational collaboration, launching in summer 2012 and culminating in a featured production as part of PIFA 2013 - bringing together master teaching artists, emerging artists, university students and high school juniors and seniors to create an original theatre piece through a process steeped in ensemble creation, mutual learning, and mentoring.
Time Machine is made possible with funding from the Wyncote Foundation, the CHG Charitable Trust, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts 2013, Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at Univeristy of the Arts, the Philadelphia Foundation, the Lumpkin Family Foundation, the William Penn Foundation, the Charlotte Cushman Foundation, and honorary producers Linda and David Glickstein and William Loeb.
